current favorite colors

.
…deserve a post.
(Inspired by unquiet.heart and eidechse)

Like unquiet.heart, I’ve been in love with cyan since the beginning of the year.
.
As well as with other shades in the bright turquoise range.
.
Another of my current favorites is a bright and clear red.
.
I also like a combination of some bright colors
resembling a rainbow.
.
These two have been among my favorites since about a year now, especially in combination with each other.
.
This is another combination I like.
And copper just rocks.
.
And finally: black and white and blue.

correlations

Last weekend when I was on my way
into the woods I saw one of these:
.
Letztes Wochenende sah ich einen von diesen
auf dem Weg in den Wald:

The orange dots were really eye-catching and I wondered
what kind of butterfly it was. I had never seen one like this
before. By a little research I learned that it was a male Orange Tip
(Anthocharis cardamines) which belongs to the Pieridae family.
One of their main sources of food is Garlic Mustard.
A few weeks ago I met a woman in the same place
who was gathering herbs. I asked her what herbs are growing there
and one of the plants she showed me was Garlic Mustard.
It’s a nice experience to see correlations like this with my own eyes
and without consciously being on the lookout for it. I will, however,
try to learn more about such ecological correlations in the next time.
.
